Custom Folder

Hi,

Why it is not an opetion to create folder under the cluster  level  so I can create  csutom alerts for a specific host

Unfortunately you cannot but can put them in a cluster for logical grouping. If you don't need any cluster features, just keep them disabled.

You can only create VM folders under the VMs and Templates view and not from the Hosts and Clusters View

Thank you for your answer, I will put my question in other words. How can I put some hosts under one folder ?

Thank you , is there a reason behined that I mean cannot put hosts under folder? In some cases there is a need for some OU under the cluster.

‌VMware designed the cluster to be the lowest containter for hosts. Above this you have the data centre and vcenter server.

If you need to group further. You can tag the hosts to put them into a logical group Tagging objects in the vSphere Web Client (2032887) | VMware KB
