Do RDMs count the same as a LUN on max LUN limitations?

I have been posed a design question by a team I work with now and then. Someone there has planned to do the following, and I'm concerned that this will exhaust the max # of LUNS per Host as outlined in the 5.5 Configuration Maximums document.

16 HP hosts (probably newer HP G8 / G9)

80 VMs some version of Linux

6 Oracle databases per VM

6 RDMs required per vm (required by Oracle Automated Storage Management) which I'm told requires RDMs presented to the DB so OASM can manage the storage.

So to me, that looks like 80*6*6 RDMs which = 2880 RDMs.

Since you would have all 16 hosts in a single cluster (or two) I would seem to me each host would have to have all 2880 RDMs presented to each Host.

I don't think this is possible, but looking for some expert opinion / commentary.

Or, maybe I'm missing something in the Configuration Maximums document.

Or, maybe RDMs are counted differently.

Or, maybe there is some other way to accommodate this want.

I suspect that the RDMs will not be classified as LUNs so you'll have a higher theoretic maximum but someone else might be able to confirm?
