Is it true EMC Corporation gutted VMware when Dell approached them with the aquisition proposition?

So as everyone may have heard by now, Dell Inc. had submitted a bid to acquire EMC corporation. If EMC corporation cannot find any other buyers, then Dell will takeover EMC corporation and fully own VMware Inc. as a subsidy of their newly acquired EMC corporation. In the face of this, I read that EMC fired nearly the entire VMware staff in order to save money because once Dell acquires EMC, this will no longer be their problem. Instead, it will be Dell's problem. Is this true? Because if so, that's highly unethical and it makes me extremely angry. :smileyangry: :smileyangry: :smileyangry:

This means that VMware products are no longer actively being developed including the fixing of some bugs. Did anyone else hear of this?

totally false. VMware still has 19,000+ employees and still is investing in existing products and developing new ones
