Attached appvolumes (Nitro pro) (Adobe Acrobat) (DWG True View) stop Word Macros from running.

Hello

We are getting this error for some users in Microsoft Word 2016 :  "The Macro cant be found or has been disabled because of your Macro Security Settings."

IF i go ahead and detatch the appvolumes. - i can then go in to Word and run the Macro from the Ribbon.

Microsoft office is isntalled "Click to run" in the desktop image.

Nitro pro)

(Adobe Acrobat)

(DWG True View)

is an example of apps that break this.

Any ideas ?

Office 2016 is not supported at this time.  Based on the information below this is likely due to the click-to-run issue. The following may help but there is no guarantee.

http://kb.vmware.com/kb/2145079

Office 2016 has ClickToRun registry path in a different location.  I believe it is the following:

exclude_registry=\REGISTRY\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\REGISTRY

Let me know if that works.

You should always install Office fully in your AppStack or on your Master Image. AppStacks are read only and will cause a lot of chasing your tail with issues.

You should always install MSI applications with FULL components.

Try that first and let us know if you still have the issue.

I would also try using the MSI install so you can disable the updates. With Click-n-Run, I believe this install does updates automatically for you.

Here the link that might help you. http://www.thewindowsclub.com/msi-vs-click-to-run-office

Yes i also found this location and tested it!

I have fed this back to our support engineer, he will submit this feedback to engineering.

Confirmed this works for Appstacks with 2016 office client installed
