Workstation Pro 12.1.1 Update for 7-Zip (7za.exe) Planned?

Hi everyone,

I hope you are well today.

As you know last month a security update (v16.00) was made available for 7-Zip:

I have VMware Workstation 12.1.1 installed but it still has version 9.20 of 7za.exe installed located at the following directory path: C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware

Is VMware affected by the issues raised in the above mentioned blog post? If so, is this older .exe file likely to be replaced in an upcoming update to VMware?

Hi Tracy,

I can confirm that after installing the 12.5.1 update for Workstation Pro that the 7za.exe is now showing as version 16.02. This version is not vulnerable to the issues I mentioned in this thread.
