Cursor loses focus in Windows on Workstation 12 Pro

I run several VMs on a 64bit Windows laptop.  Recently (a couple of months?) I have noticed that my cursor loses focus or jumps to somewhere else, or just does something funky periodically.  I suspect this started when I upgraded to Workstation Pro, but can't say for sure.  The issue manifests itself in several ways, perhaps the easiest to explain is if I try to copy part of the path from windows explorer, I cannot do so.  The entire path will always end up selected.  Alternately when working in visual studio I will suddenly be typing somewhere unexpected.

Any ideas?

hava you update vmtools to the latest one bundled with WS?

if yes, what's the version of Workstation are you using and what's your guest os?

Could you upload a vmware.log when the issue happens for further investigation?

I should be using the latest version of VMTools.  I update when prompted.  It looks like version  10.0.6.3595377 was installed on 5/20/16

I am running VMware® Workstation 12 Pro, version 12.1.1 build-3770994.

I have seen this behavior with both Windows 7 and Windows 2012 R2 guest OSes.

I attached a VMware.log file from this morning.  I started the VM, verified I was seeing the issue, then shut the VM back down before attaching.
