In my home lab I was testing network Teaming Policies of a vSwitch and have few questions that I want to ask you all
I am doing my tests in VMware Workstation 12
First >>> When I choose teaming policy as Route Based on Source MAC hash ... On the esxi host I have a vSwitch0 with two pNIC's in it. VM Port Group is VM Network. I have three VM with two
vNIC's each. When I power on the VM's --- all the vNIC's get connected to same pNIC. Snapshot attached. How is it possible ??? Also what does the star * at the back of vminic means
Second >>> I placed a host in Distributed Switch and created a VM Port group with teaming policy as Route Based on Physical NIC Load. I have a VM with two vNIC's connected to this VM PG. When I power on the VM both vNIC's get connected to same pNIC. I understand their is no load on the pNIC's but shouldn't they be going to different pNIC's?
