I'm new to ESXi, came from Linux. I added a second NIC, which is seen by ESXi as Intel e1000 when I create a new VM, but I can't seem to configure it, or get it to pass traffic. When this server was running Linux, it just came up and I used ifconfig and it passed traffic fine, how can I do that in ESXi, since I can't really seem to get to command line, and the guest won't connect to the 172.16.x.x network across it.
I'm using the Windows desktop client to configure it, since I still can't figure out how to get the web config, or really even what that is or how to download it. The browser login just said to go use the client. Is that another VM I need to download? I have vsphere essentials, so I don't even know if it is included in what I bought.
