I'm not sure what you mean by your question. Are you talking about what you need to do within the OS to enable the internet? If so, that is best determined by your specific OS. If you are talking about how to get VM networking configured please provide more details about networking in your environment. Do you have other VMs that can access the internet? What does your network look like (what is the path traffic would need to take to get to the internet from your VMs)? Can other devices in your environment access the internet? Where is the traffic stopping (gateway? router? firewall?)
In general, getting a VM access to the internet is the same as getting a physical VM access. Configure the VM with an IP, mask, subnet, etc or DHCP, connect the VM to a portgroup that is configured with a VLAN with routing setup to provide connection to the internet.
