I'm running Workstation 11 under Windows Server 2012 R2. When attempting to connect the host's SATA DVD drive (there's only the one drive) to a guest machine, I get the following error:
Failed to connect to device '\\?\scsi#cdrom&ven_asus&prod_drw-24b1st___c#4&3997f332&0&020000#{53f56308-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}': The handle is invalid
Please ensure that your configuration is correct.
Failed to connect virtual device sata0:0.
I have deleted and re-added the DVD drive to the guest machines and this makes no difference. It makes no difference whether I pick the DVD by its drive letter or choose "auto-detect." I am able to use the DVD drive just fine from the host.
Any idea what is causing this or what to do about it?
