ESX6U2 Build 3073146 - HostClient - Raw Device Mapping

Hi,

I found the following issue with the new  ESX 6.0.0 Update2 3073146

* I've got a device mapped by RDM like on KB1017530 to a VM (has been connected with the the c# "fat client") some time ago

* I open the new host client

* from there I open the settings of my VM (running or not running does not matter)

* when hit 'Save' even without changing anything  I get a red

Failed to reconfigure virtual machine BACKUPSERVER. Incompatible device backing specified for device '3'. end ngIf: !notification.link && !notification.state ngIf: notification.link ngIf: notification.state

Edit settings with the fat client still works as usual...

Ralf.

Hi Ralf,

Yes, unfortunately, Embedded Host Client doesn't yet support managing raw mapped disks. It is on the TODO list.
