So I was just wondering about a behavior I observe in vSphere 6, Virtual Machine Console windows:
Let's say I install an application inside a VM (MS SQL, for example). I go through the wizards/menus and click off the installer just as I would expect. If I am not actively interacting with the console, it will appear to freeze, but when I click back inside the console, I will get a fast-forward playback of the events of the last minutes/hours, then I am caught up again.
What is the mechanism causing the VM to stop delivering new information to the screen, then play it all back in 5-10 seconds?
