Hello all,
I have been trying to install VCSA 6.0 into workstation11 as a VM and when importing the extracted .OVA I get the following.
Error: The import failed because ... ova did not pass OVF specification conformance or virtual hardware compliance checks. Click Retry to relax OVF specification and virtual hardware compliance checks and try the import again, or click Cancel to cancel the import. If you retry the import, you might not be able to use the virtual machine in VMware Workstation.
I’m assuming this is why you customized the perimeters first right? or what's the cause?
Please keep in mind this is for monitoring and creation of HA/FT for studies.
Thanks in advance.
I tried to install it via vmware fusion on mac and works great.
Check from your side that you already applied the minimum H.W checks.
I searched and there are lot of people talk about how to install it. Please have a look.

How to Install VCSA6 in VMware Workstation | Virten.net
I remember seeing some notes from lamw on this:
Ultimate automation guide to deploying VCSA 6.0 Part 1: Embedded Node | virtuallyGhetto
take a look everywhere where it says workstation, he does mention the ovf problem.
I googled and also found another link with screenshots:

hope that helps!

Thanks for your great answer Ahmed,
I followed some links and you suggested How to Install VCSA6 in VMware Workstation | Virten.net
So when I rename and add the .ova extension to vcsa/vmware-vcsa file and open Text-editor I get the following instead of the "guestinfo.cis" lines like everyone else has to add the custom network lines..
This is what I get....
numvcpus = "2"
scsi0.present = "TRUE"
scsi0.virtualDev = "lsilogic"
memsize = "2048"
scsi0:0.present = "TRUE"
scsi0:0.fileName = "VMware ESX_ESXi 4.vmdk"
ide1:0.present = "TRUE"
ide1:0.autodetect = "TRUE"
ide1:0.deviceType = "cdrom-raw"
ethernet0.present = "TRUE"
ethernet0.connectionType = "nat"
ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000"
ethernet0.wakeOnPcktRcv = "FALSE"
ethernet0.addressType = "generated"
pciBridge0.present = "TRUE"
pciBridge4.present = "TRUE"
pciBridge4.virtualDev = "pcieRootPort"
pciBridge4.functions = "8"
pciBridge5.present = "TRUE"
pciBridge5.virtualDev = "pcieRootPort"
pciBridge5.functions = "8"
There is only one .VMX file to edit and this is what I get.
I think it's so simple but yet I'm missing it.
Thanks again
