here is the set up.
we have two laptops which operators use to log into VSphere to connect to an HMI.
- operator(s) will start the cell connection on laptop running win7
- start VSphere, log in, select the appropriate server, then enter credentials, this takes them to the virtual desktop in VMWare
- there they select the plant they need to go to, monitor or make changes
- while they are connected to the virtual desktop they will get booted off the virtual desktop and back to the laptop, the cell connection is still good so trying to ping the server would not work because they are kicked off the network.
- we also have a utility dispatch with a Win7 desktop with fiber connection and they get booted off in the same time period so that eliminates the cell provider
- there is no issue with the laptops
this is occurring at close to the same time every night.(2200hrs local) I have gotten with our IT guys, they said they looked and didn't find anything on their end which would cause this. I've been in contact with VMware, had several techs remote in to poke around to check VMWare settings, they can't find anything causing it. I'm stumped.
