Restoring Windows VMs from a Live Backup

    jgiovann Lurker

      Hi guys,

I've started using ghettoVCB and it seems to work well. Admittedly when I restore a Windows 2008 R2 machine from a live backup I get a "Windows Error Recovery" screen. The default selection (in the Windows console) to allow the VM to start normally works fine.

      - Are there options in ghettoVCB to avoid this behaviour for Windows VMs or is this expected ?

      - Should I be using options such as VM_SNAPSHOT_MEMORY and VM_SNAPSHOT_QUIESCE ?

Specific details of the setup are given below:

      ESXi version: 6.0.0 Build 2494585

ghetto VCB version: 4/3/2015 (Charles Labri)

      Backup datastore type: NFS

guest OS: Windows Server 2008 R2

      Much appreciated,

      John
