Windows 2012

I've seen this asked but not answered, is there a timeline in which VMmark will support the newer Windows OS's such as Windows Server 2012?

Thank-you

The next major version of VMmark will support up-to-date OSes. A timeline has not yet been released.

Thank you,

Rebecca

Thank-you for the quick reply, a couple of follow-ons though:

  1. Document shows Windows Server 2003 on the Standby system, since this OS is no longer supported by MS, and no other applications are on the Standby, can any WIndows Server be used?
  2. Can any Linux distro be used or must it be SLES 11?

1. Windows Server 2003 is required.

2. It must be SLES 11.

The reason for these requirements is for comparability to published VMmark results.  When the guest OS is allowed to be varied, the comparability of results across different hardware or hypervisor versions becomes difficult (if not impossible).
