VMotion

Hi everyone,

I want to add new esxi5.5 host to my environment. and i am using vDistributed Switch.

When i add the new esxi host do i need to create a vmkernel port for vmotion on that particular host like standard switch.I am confused here.

If you use a separated VMkernel interface for vMotion, when adding the host to a Distributed Switch you still need to create/migrate the VMkernel interface for vMotion in the Distributed Switch, what you don't need to do is create a port group to the vMotion VMkernel interface, since port groups on Distributed Switch must be create only once.
