Pity there has been no reply so far.
We also struggle to thinapp latest Chrome as it indeed crashes after running a minute or two. Tried pretty much any available guides and many various options with no luck.
szilagyic, did you ever get past your issue with Chrome?
hopefully someone will chime in with an answer as we've had the similar issues with Firefox and Thinapp -
the issue we run into is the same, it will run for a bit and then the thinapp will bomb out..
we end up having to hard-reset their VDI since the firefox thinapp process doesn't fully exit and the process can't be killed via normal methods
we'll then have to go in and cleanup the temp files for it operate properly again..
does anyone have a proper working recipe for firefox?
Do not know where is the problem, but ALL latest versions of Firefox do not compatible with any ThiApp. After short time, Firefox begin to crashes, if sanbox is deleted, FF come to life, but the same problem is come quickly. My solution was a bit offtoped - for stable portable Firefox, including its clones like Pale Moon and so on, I use Spoon Studio (now Turbo Studio) and forgot any troubles with ThinApp.
I have opened a support request to VMWare regarding this but so far (after one week) there is no useful information from their side
It looks that for Chrome, it helps to skip using the ADMX to disable Google Updates and instead, add this into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.txt:
This still keeps crashing on the 2nd and consecutive runs which needs to be resolved by using:
but that's very very inconvenient since it wipes out any saved bookmarks, etc.
I am trying to get solution for this issue from support as well.
I wonder that you already had these problems in december. Our problems with thinapped Chrome and Firefox started with the Microsoft patchday in february this year. I found out that the reason for this issue are KB3126593 and KB3126587 - both patches for IE. Without these patches Chrome and Firefox work correctly.
To uninstall these patches is not right way.
Is there any permanent solution for this issue?
