Alert for Guest File System Disk space (without turning on all Capacity alerts)

Hi,

Does anyone know how you can turn on alerts for Guest File System free space (i.e. individual symptom) without turning on Capacity alerts? The Capacity alerts create a lot of noise. Running VRealize Operations 6.1

Thanks,

John

Navigate to Content --> Notifications, and create a new notification.  Set the object type to Virtual Machine, and the Notfication Trigger to Alert Definition and then point to the alert you want to be notified on.  You can select any or all criticality levels, and optionally under advanced you can chose any or all alert states and statuses.

On the policy you can go down to section 5, Override Alert / Symptom Definitions and disable or enable whatever alters you like.  This will only apply to objects that apply this policy directly, or if you have a high level policy which the nested policy inherits.

Sorry for the late reply, but I wanted to test. First, thanks for your response. I did go ahead and individually enable the guest disk space alerts. The alerts do get raised, but no email is sent. Is there something else I should check, so far the only way I can get an email sent is to enable capacity alerts.
