Unable to copy vmdk files with web client

I was trying to copy a VM from one location to another using the file manager in the web client and I found that I'm unable to copy the data portion (i.e. the -flat part) of a virtual disk file.  The client silently only copies the configuration portion of the vmdk file, but not the data portion.  If you go back and try to do it again you get a duplicate file error.  Of course this must have to do with the fact that the gui hides the fact that a vmdk file is really two physical files, the portion with the configuration in it and the portion with the actual data.   Am I missing something here, or is there a trick to it that I don't know about, such as being able to force the web client to show you both physical files that make up the vmdk?

I have to say that this web client is a joke.  I can't believe that they were actually going to discontinue the original client when the web client can't do simple things like download all the files in a directory, or even copy a vmdk file correctly.

Hi, Are you trying to migrate the virtual machine from one ESXi host to other or the from one datastore to another.

You can use Migrate virtual machine option of the VM Setting to migrate it to another ESXi host or datastore.
