connect to ESXi over the internet issue: unable to connect to the mks: could not connect to pipe \\.\pipe\vmware-authdpipe within retry period

Good morning colleagues,

I’m trying to connect to my Esxi-6 over the internet. I am forwarding ports 443, 902, 903 to the Esxi server.

I can connect to the server but have an error on the VM’s console, namely:

unable to connect to the mks: could not connect to pipe \\.\pipe\vmware-authdpipe within retry period

Any suggestions?

Many thanks and good day,

Archie

I was able to use the VSphere client to connect to a virtual machine on this ESXi server last week.   I just added a new server/or actually created one with the standalone converter like I always do and now it won't let me connect to the console.  I keep getting the error that is listed here -- mks: could not connect to pipe .... within retry period.   I can connect from my other PC.  I am thinking that maye the certificate or something?  because it kept prompting me to accept it while converting my machine.

how can I get around this?
