[ws11.x] The "boot insecure" message on an Linux VM

Hi

I installed Workstation 11.x on Windows 7 SP1.

When I create a Linux virtual machine of EFI type to start a Live distribution, as Parted Magic, it starts but crashes with the "boot insecure" message.

Why? How do I fix this?

Thanks

Hi Balubeto!

Which exact version of Parted Magic are you attempting to boot?  Did you leave it for a long time (several minutes), in case it is just booting very slowly?

The "boot insecure" message is expected since Secure Boot is not available.  The guest OS has probably just frozen (or is taking a while to boot) with that message being its last output.

If you can supply the exact ISO name or a URL, I'll fetch that version and give it a try here.

Cheers,

I haven't downloaded it.  If you have the opportunity to edit the kernel command-line before it starts to boot, try appending:

  vmwgfx.enable_fbdev=1

to the kernel options and see if that fixes the problem.
