Can't stop VMware services in order to uninstall Workstation 11

Hello,

My company recently changed some of it's Admin privileges, or so I believe. I used to be able to "Run as Administrator," and in the past couple of weeks this no longer works (I get asked for an actual admin password, which never used to happen). Now I can "Run with elevated privileges," but this doesn't appear to be sufficient to stop the various VMware services so that I can uninstall Workstation 11. The uninstall fails with the message: "The MSI failed. Service "VMware Authorization Service" (VMAuthdService) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services."

Trying to stop the services manually either through services.msc or the Task Manager Services tab also tell me that access is denied when trying to stop the services. So, indeed, it appears I don't have the privileges necessary to stop services. How can I uninstall Workstation 11, preferably without having to call my IT desk just to do so... I was able to install... I'd like to be able to uninstall.

As an alternative, are there VMware settings that prevent it from auto-starting itself/tray/services? I don't recall ever telling it to, so I was a bit dismayed by the system tray icon and running services I discovered... do you ask users to accept this upon installation?
