Forcing datastore heatbeating refresh

I have my HA cluster (vSphere 5.1) set to select any datastore for heartbeating. Unfortunately, I need to unmount one of the selected datastores. How do I force vSphere to refresh its choices without changing the settings to a manually-selected datastore.

Thanks.

Not sure if you can do this, but you may try disabled datastore heartbeat like describe here How to disable Datastore Heartbeating and disable HA on cluster. After unmount the datastore you can re-enable the datastore heartbeat or HA on cluster.

This is possible in the current releases of vSphere, you would have to manually select datastore for heartbeat, and then proceed to unmounting the datastore.

It would be nice if VMware would allow a file to be placed in the root of the volume i.e "no_datastore_heartbeat_volume" and it is automatically disabled on the next run.
