Hi
We have two physical DCs active/active, plus several tiny regional ROBO offices (single host and <5 VMs), all running 5.x
I'm designing our vSphere 6 environment - it will be a green field migration.
So, I have a choice to make on vCenters. Originally I was going to have two vCSAs, with two external PSCs. (Split 50/50 in each DC).
However, I then had the two 'issues'...
- Where to register our ROBO office hosts? DC1 or DC2? (I'm not buying 12 vCenter licenses for tiny offices!)
- We all prefer to remain using the Windows vSphere Client and I don't like the fact that we can't view the entire estate through a single vSphere Client window.
.....so I may go back to having a single vCSA and two PSCs (I don't like embedded PSC, but want some resilience for the PSC). I can then use VDP to backup the vCSA, and restore it in DC2 in a DR (it's on a stretched vLAN) and can manually re-point vCSA in the event that the PSC1 is unavailable.
With a single vCenter license, is it OK to have two PSCs?
Would anyone else approach the above differently (perhaps I'm missing something)?
Thanks
