Hello, I have the problem that I can't use ISO files in VMWare 9.
I had the same issue with VMWare 8 but there was a workaround in 8.
Use DeamenTool Lite and ISO's were useable.
But this don't work in 9 and mounting ISO's with setting is not working too.
Any ideas?
PS I'm running Win 7 Ultimate 64bit, and switched from VMWare 8 to 9 when I changes my PC.
You need to troubleshoot then.
1.Can you check mounting the iso in to the other vms as well ?
2. Did you tried removing the Cd rom and adding it again in the vm from vmware workstation.
3. Also check the .vmx file for the impacted vm and see if the ide cdrom settings are correct

Please provide some more details about the issue you have.
Are you trying to boot from an ISO image (is it bootable)?
Are you trying to mount an ISO on a already installed VM, and it doesn't work?

Win 7 64bit
I'm trying to access an ISO-file on an already installed VM and it's not working.
Direct access to the physical Drive works, but I have to install an app that has 10 CD's and that not fun to do.
And loading from HDD is much faster and the most of my CD's are going to an external storage after I made ISO's from it.
But I'm currently downloading VMWare 8 from here, so I will most likely switch back to VMWare 8.
Will any VMWare Workstaion runs side be side without beating each others driver?
1. I will suggest you to make sure that your iso is bootable.
2. Make sure connect and connect and power on is selected on the CDROM while mounting ISO. (Most probably this can be the reason)
3. Also check out in the vm by pressing Escape button if your boot from CDROM is on the first mount device is selected.
I tried this already and I want to install an Application on an running VM.
Applications don't need to be boot-able they rely on an working OS, but thank you for the try.

Ok that worked for me.
I used the virtual drive of DeamonTools instead of the physical drive letter and it worked.
Glad it worked. Good Luck
