Patch ESXi : Host is not changed.

Hi all of you

when patch an esxi, i got  after esxcli software profile update -d,  Message: host not changed.

   Reboot Required: false

that proof the vib exist already

you can run the below command to check the version and build number of your Esxi host(s) or you can check this information from vSphere client.

vmware -vl

If Esxi host is already running the version/build you are trying to apply, it will return as host not change message.

No that means your is update with the latest change after patch but the change to take effect doesn't required reboot.

This is same scenario like live vib install where you don't need to reboot the host but host is installed with new vib.

Hi,

I read the thread and i am facing the same thing as mentioned above.

SO what i am trying to do is i want to install 1G driver which is a vib file to show up 1G port on my system.

I did install the same and it gives the same result but doesnt show up the port.

Any idea why that would happen?

Please let me know. Thanks.
