Extremely high disk workload

So i've noticed that ever since we dropped our queue depths from 64 to 32, our disk workload has been extremely high and often hitting 100%.  I'm sure you can see when the change was made.   My main problem is, I don't know what this means.  Is there somewhere where this type of stuff is explained?  Just the terminolgy?

I just don't know at this point if this is bad or not.  We had been working on capacity and CPU usage has dropped dramatically since that day too.  Read/write rates look normal, along with latency as well.  So at this point, I'm lookinga at this like we need to adjust queue depths back to 64.

Read this:

You really don't want to be reducing you queue depth unless you do the calculations and the hardware can't support the current value.

Under CPU, look at the IOWait now since you have made the change.....
