The /bin/csh interpreter is not present in ESX 3.0.
Contact EMC for a supported version - if one is available...
Unless someone else here has cracked this one open and changed all the scripts to support bash or perl or...
We found a working solution. we have installed the following .rpm
now we can install the EMC Control Center agent..
So I understand this correctly,
1. install tcsh-rhcn-6.09.00-1.i386.rpm
2. Install ECC agent
Does anyone know if EMC is going to release a newer version of the ECC agent anytime soon? Are they even working on it?
Do you actually have ECC working properly with ESX? Our SAN guy tells us it isn't working properly with our ESX hosts... we are at ESX 2.5.3 and 2.5.2.
I followed the steps above, but it is not working. It installs fine, but the SAN admin is unable to see the ESX server in his console. I used the FQDN for the server, so I'm pretty sure name resolution is not an issue.
Do any firewall or security changes need to be made to ESX?
Got off the phone with VMWare.....realize that this is not something that the recomend.
Plus the information that one gets may or may not be relevant.....I used the conversation as a good way NOT to put it on my new box.
