Hi,

on our test environment with 2 HP DL580g5 and one DL585G5 was running vSphere 5.5 with vCenter fine. Very happy to install the new vCenter6 on a new vm, it was working fine and easy. But when I did install vsphere6, I was surprised because I get Errors:

CPU_Cores Error: This host has [1] CPU core(s) which is less than recommended [2] cpu cores

Warnings:

<UNSUPPORTED_DEVICES Warning: This host has unsupported devices [<PciInfo ' [103c:3230 103c:3234]'>]>

Is it possible to change some bios settings so that my 3 Servers are working? Because it is very expensive to change all servers!

I know for a productive Environment (customers), it is time to change the old hardware to a newer generation (g7 /G8G9), but for a test-equipment it is hard........

Not sure about the CPU messages, maybe a BIOS update will help!? The unsupported devices warning points to the P400 RAID Controller (see VMware KB: Devices deprecated and unsupported in VMware ESXi 6.0).

I have the same story. I updated the BIOS and RAID controller to the latest version, and I get this message when installing ESXI 6.5. Prior to the ESXI 6.5 update, she worked there for many years. Is this error related to BIOS or RAID?

When RAID verison of P400 was 4.06 all was OK, but it was bad hdd speed. What version of firmware is supported for ESXI 6.5?

Neither the one, nor the other. It related to the missing driver support for that controller.

I have 3 servers DL 380 G5. 2 Server works on 6.5 ESXI. I can't install it after BIOS and P400 firmware upgrade.

Maybe something can be fixed in BIOS?

That's indeed interesting.

Can you confirm that you are trying to install the exact same ESXi version/build, and image (HPE image,vs. VMware image)?

Which ESXi version did you run prior to this one? Does the old version's installer recognize the RAID controller? I'm asking for this to rule out a general issue with the upgraded RAID controller.

The fact is that another person installed ESXI before me, now 2 servers have HPE ESXI 6.5 U1 version. Before the update, I did not try to install ESXI on these servers, now I'm sorry about that.

The screenshot show that the host has been installed using the HPE customized ESXi image. Are you using this same image for the current host?

In doubt, please run esxcli software vib list from one of the working host's command line and provide the command's output (in text format please) in your next reply.
