Unable to authenticate via alias name of identity source for vmware SSO authentication

Hi,

Am trying to add alias name of the identity source ( ldap.xx.xxx.com) instead of the actual domain server name for SSO authentication purpose.

But after adding the alias name, am unable to authenitcate the domain and login to the vcenter.

The alias name which I entered is valid and we are trying to access via ports 389,636, 3268 .

But none works.

I wish to know, for vcenter authentication via SSO,  whether we are allowed to add alias name of identity source  instead of the actual domain server name.

Please help as am unable to find any related article on this topic.

Hi all,

Finally, able to change the alias name successfully by changing authentication type to Password instead of reuse session and then providing the user name as full OU path entry instead of the actual AD id alone.
