Are the hosts managed by vCenter Server? In this case - depending on the vCenter Server version - they may be able to access vCenter Server using the vSphere Web Client.
We don't have the vCentre Server to manage these.
We are looking for vSphere client for MAC OS X 10.9.
VMware Fusion 7 Pro is capable of connecting to vSphere and ESXi servers, see Run Windows on Mac: VMware Fusion Pro Features | United States and Compare VMware Fusion 7 Pro to Fusion 6 Professional, Fusion 7, and Parallels Desktop | United States though its price is pretty steep if you're looking for just that one feature. I wish they would release the client separately now they have it implemented in Fusion.
Could someone provide me the details of the client to be used from MAC OS to manage the VMware ESXi servers? Or let me know the MAC equivalent of vSphere Client..
I don't believe there is a installable client for OS X. I think you either use the webclient via vCenter or you are screwed.
As I wrote, the only native client is included in VMware Fusion 7 Pro (see also here for some real world information and screenshots VMware Fusion 7 Pro: connect to vSphere VMs remotely! - VirtualLifestyle.nl). The only other OS X option is the Web Client which is available with recent vSphere releases and that's server side stuff which is then run from web browser.
Other options would involve virtualization and thus running Windows client in Windows VM etc.
Based on WineHQ - VMware vSphere Client it doesn't work very well in Wine (or CrossOver or other products based on it) - so that doesn't seem to be a good option.
There was a native client for OSX in preview release of vSphere 6, but it was removed for the final release and no longer works.
You have to use the web client (if you have vCenter) or native windows client.
Why you removed it (((((
I am admin and I have ESXi 6 at home as my home server.
And I have Mac so I need something to connect to my server ...
Is there any hope in close future we have vSphere Client for Mac ?
Not sure why VMware has not developed a vSphere client for MAC OSX. Many, Many IT folks, especially in the partner community (Cisco, PAN, etc, etc) are avid MAC users cause we get tired of the windows bloat, the relentless security inadequacies, and the crashes. The point being: there are a lot of engineers who use MAC's and VMware needs to develop the VSphere client for mac.
I was looking for the same.
If you install the esxui-signed.vib, it gives esxi a web interface to control esxi. It is a work in progress. It has some bugs and limitations currently. For instance, I was able to enable passthru for a pci device, but I could not install a vm and give that pci device to the vm. I had to use the .exe for windows for more complete control. I think they may have more working in 6 months, it seems a web interface is where they and everybody is going these days; but, not there yet.
The fusion pro does let you control some things, but again it is not as complete as the windows .exe. So for now run windows under fusion and use the .exe.
I would like to know same.
I really need vSphere Client for Mac
What is currently working for me.
Fusion Pro allows starting stoping, some backups of vms, etc.
The esxui-signed.vib allows more control, monitoring, and is a work in progress. You just need a web browser.
Check out: vSphere Host Client
The windows client exe currently gives the most control. I paid MS for win 7 so I could use the exe with Fusion pro.
I believe you can add the esxi-ui package (I think this was the package name) that will allow you to connect through a web client (in case you don't have already the vSphere vCenter web client. Simply connect to http://host/ui and it should be ok. It is definitely working for me
