There too using a Swiss German Keyboard (§ and \ Keys)
I made this temporary "hack" (should work on all Windows NT Based systems, layout independend) to temporary fix it
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
No, also this solution doesn't works.
I have a bootcamp VM and i don't know if it makes the difference.
@Vulpes: Could you send me the .reg files ??
Could be, I "just" use it as a VM. Now I just need the performence hit Fusion 7 came with to be fixed.
Warning when using Bootcamp, this will then cause the keys to be swapped in Boot Camp.
When VWMare releases an update to fix that issue, remove the hack as well.
thanks a lot, now all works fine.
I contacted the vmWare support and they told me that only "few" people have this issue !!!!
I don't think that there are "few" people only: it seems that almost every "country" had problem with this swapping-issue !!
Same problem here. Fusion 7 and VM with Windows 7, on MacPro and MacBookProRetina, both on Mavericks 10.9.5.
Italian keyboard layout, \| swapped with <>.
Temporarily resolved with vmware keyboard mapping.
Same issue here, fixed with the reg hack.
@Vulpes: You, sir, ROCK! <3
I used the following method to create a custom keyboard layout for Windows 8 in a VM. Does the job perfectly
There's also another within this forum regarding the same method
Hope this helps
I just upgraded to VMWare Fusion 7, and the problem is still unsolved (at least when using a Spanish keyboard). Thankfully remapping the keys solves it by now, but I can't believe that this problem hasn't been solved since September (amazing support VMWare! I loved the time I lost trying to change the keyboard settings until I decided to Google the problem).
P.S. For those having problems, remember that the keys that you have to swap are different depending on your language. In a Spanish keyboard I had to map "º" to "<" and "<" to "º". You don't need to map the key with alt/shift/ctrl, just the main character in each physical key.
