SRM vSphere Replication and SAN Replication possible?

Hello

Just curious if you can setup SAN replication with the SRA's to SANs that are paired (1 Production site, 1 DR Site) and then also setup Vmware Replicator for SAN systems that do not have replication built in.

Is this setup possible?  Let me know?

Vmware Replicator or vSphere Replication ? Smiley Happy

To use vSphere Replication you will need deploy the vSphere Replication appliance on each site and you can use the same SRM server along side with SRA.

Combined Array-Based and vSphere Replication Protection Limits with SRM

With SRM, you can run array-based protection groups alongside vSphere Replication protection groups in the same SRM Server. However, the total number of protection groups cannot exceed 250. For example, you cannot create 150 array-based protection groups and then create 250 vSphere Replication protection groups, as this creates 400 protection groups in total. If you have 150 array-based protection groups, you can create an additional 100 vSphere Replication protection groups, to make a total of 250 protection groups.

Yes, it is possible since you do not attempt to configure vSphere Replication on a virtual machine that resides on a datastore that you replicate by using array-based replication.

Can the Vmware Replicator be installed on the same SRM VM that runs the SRA, or should I install it on a different VM ?
