vCenter web client for Mac -- Control C, Control Z & other control characters don't work

Hello,

I am running the following:

- Mac OS X Mavericks, 10.9.4

- VMWare vSphere 5.5

- Chrome Version 35.0.1916.153 (Flash is built in)

- VMware Client Support Plug-in - Version: VMwareClientSupportPlugin 5.5.0.41167

- This problem occurs with the laptop keyboard and with any USB keyboard that I plug in.

I have created a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 VM on an ESXi host. I activated the Web Client console, and I can view the console on the box and I can log in to the VM and run commands. However, 'Control-C' 'Control-Z' and other Control characters do not work. This makes Linux job control impossible.

Control Characters do work in Firefox 30.0 running Flash version 14.0.0.145.

Have others run into this problem, and does anyone have a solution to this problem?

Thank you,

-= Stefan

hello

i had this problem too and there is no solution that i can find on many forums

only solution is to use other browser like firefox.

Hopefully the new webclient in future vsphere version will use html5 so there will be no need for flash
