VM Consolidation

We have ESxi 5.5 host.

I found that there are some orphan vmdk files which needs consolidation for a vm.

So i went to vm - > rightclick -> snapshot -> consolidate

then i went to datastore browser to see and i still see those vmdks that is vmname-0001.vmdk files....

i did consolidation twice but still that files is not going.

What can be the issue ??

Create a snapshot and then do a delete all task.

Monitor the snapshot using command line . The instructions are available in KB http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1007566
