The maximum consolidate retries was exceeded for scsi0:0

Hi all,

I have been looking into an issue that we have in our environment at the moment with our backups being carried out by VEEAM. The backups are reaching the stage of removing snapshots and seem to be failing, meaning when I get into the office in the morning I am having to in consolidate snapshots and in some cases even remove snapshots that VEEAM has not yet done.

However when consolidating the disks after nearly 3 hours of running time this morning the task failed with the below error.

In addition to this it is taking a massive amount of time to delete snapshots as well, at first thought this to be an issue with the storage but have checked out all of this and can see no sign of any issues here - so to the VMware logs.

Everything appears to be running OK, until I start to see the following errors in the log file.

2014-05-29T09:35:39.084Z| vcpu-0| I120: Guest: toolbox-dnd: Version: build-1399439

2014-05-29T09:35:39.084Z| vcpu-0| I120: GuestRpc: Channel 3, conflict: guest application toolbox-dnd tried to register, but it is still registered on channel 2

2014-05-29T09:35:39.084Z| vcpu-0| I120: GuestRpc: Channel 3 reinitialized.

These lines continue to appear in the log file for 2 half hours, until it finally gives up.

Any pointers as to what could be causing this at all? I have tried to look at this within the VEEAM support site as well but wanted to get opinions here as there is an issue outside of VEEAM to.

Thanks in advance!
