Hello everyone
I have a problem install vSphere Update Manager 5.5 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 and I'm really not getting around it.
During Update Manager installation I receive the following error:
Error 25003. Setup failed to create database tables.
This happens on installation task "Creating VMware vSphere Update Manager database repository."
I know this error has already been discussed. It seems that this error is happening mostly when using a remote SQL database. This is what I'm NOT doing.
My environment is a domain joined Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard in English. We use the vCenter Server Appliance, so there is no SQL database present on this server. I only start Update Manager installation and use the option to automatically install an SQL Express instance. Then this error happens.
I've done another installation of Update Manager on another site without any errors.
Any hint on what might cause this error?
Many thanks
René
Yes, I have tried.
Meanwhile I have figured what the problems causes. This server is a Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard in English, but with Turkish regional settings.
This regional settings cause Update Manager to produce this error 25003. Once I have changed all the regional settings to English and rebooted the server, then installation went flawlessy.
This error seems to be known by VMware, but only for vCenter Server installation. VUM seems also to be affected.
Thanks anyway...
DId you try reinstalling VUM?
Did you try res installation after cleaning up both the VUM files and MSSL DB?
Regards
Girish
