Fusion Applications Menu: "All Programs" list empty for Ubuntu 14.04 VM

IIRC, in previous Fusion versions, the All Programs apps list appeared also for Linux VMs (similarly to Windows VMs): so, has this intentionally been removed, as a feature, in Fusion 6.x?

And there's no appListCache folder inside the Ubuntu 14.04 VM bundle (as there instead is inside Windows VMs): so, probably the feature is deliberately not "active" for Linux VMs.

Any chance of bringing back this useful feature?

P.S.: BTW, Parallels Desktop 9 creates a Dock folder also for Linux VMs.

Update: I just installed Xubuntu 14.04, and the apps list is indeed present in the Fusion Applications Menu, under All Programs, everything inside an Xfce folder; and recent apps work, too; appListCache is also present inside the VM bundle.

So, it seems to be related with Unity, perhaps (or maybe with the kind of "launcher" used inside Linux?): which works seamlessly with Xubuntu 14.04 (with 3D acceleration enabled), while sadly it doesn't (yet?) work with Ubuntu 14.04...

Another update:

I installed a Lubuntu VM yesterday, and at the beginning found that automatic window resizing didn't work, despite the Tools being installed (which also required manually installing gcc, etc. etc., which weren't installed by default, as otherwise happens in standard Ubuntu) and also showing up in the LXSession Autostart items (as VMware User Agent😞 but after manually adding /usr/bin/vmware-user to the Autostart items, the Tools finally worked, and allow both Unity view and All Programs functionality in the Fusion Applications Menu (the list is named Applications).

The same also for Kubuntu (where the Tools worked straight away): Unity view and apps list (with list named KDE Menu) both work.

So, Kubuntu, Lubuntu and Xubuntu have working Unity view and apps list, while Ubuntu and Ubuntu GNOME sadly not: that seems to be the current situation...
