VmWare Virtualcenter server

VmWare Virtualcenter Management webservies

VmWare Virtualcenter server service which throws me the following error

" The vmware virtualcenter server service on local computer started and then stopped. Some services stops automatically if they are not in use by other services or program"

VmWare Virtualcenter Management webservices services throws the error

"  error 1068:the dependency service or group failed to start  "

I take once the virtualcenter server gets up and running the next service will work.

  1) I have  checked log on account

  2) I have checked connection to database

Have a look at the vpxd.log file of your vCenter server. It will give you a better view of whats causing it.

Your issue seem to be known issue check KB VMware KB: vCenter Server Services hang on startup after upgrading to vCenter Server 5.1 and this issue is resolved in VMware vCenter Server 5.1.0a released October 25, 2012.

My advice would have been to skip 5.1 and go straight to 5.5

Hi,

Check the logs and if possible share the logs here.

C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\Logs

last vpxd- log file.

Also, see if the Virtual center server service dependencies are started?

Once of the conflict will be with the IIS service which might be using the port 80, check if IIS is installed stop that temporarly and start vcenter server service

Thanks all for jumping and help.

After Rommel suggestion , I went ahead and check the many many lines of log and after hours came across and auth initialize issue with SSO.

how I fixed MY issue.

for some reason SSO service was up and running but it seemed like vituralcenter server tried to start first.

Once I restart the SSO service and waiting for it to come up, then I restarted the virtualcenter server service and it was successfully.

all nice and happy in this world now.

Thanks all for all your help and time
