I have restarted the server and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the patch, nothing has helped.

I downloaded the installation file. During installation I get the same error appears.

"Microsoft Runtime DLLs cannot be installed on this Operating System. Please see Microsoft KB835732"

What can I do?

Unfortunately, no success. Under systemcontrol -> Software I see the C++ Packages and the KB835732. But I can't install the VMWare Tools ;-(

Any idea?

Hey everyone,

In case you find this thread in a web search, I had the same problem. The answer is to have the "Microsoft Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 SP4" installed.

Cheers
