vCAC Designer fails to install

I am trying to install vCAC designer tool on a Windows 8.1 machine. I am getting the following error during install. What could be wrong in this case?

"VMware vCloud Automation Center Designer Setup Wizard was interrupted. Your system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time, please run the installation again. Click the Finish button to exit the Setup Wizard."

The following error is logged in the event log.

Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: VMware vCloud Automation Center Designer. Product Version: 6.0.1.74. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: VMware, Inc.. Installation success or error status: 1602.

Designer isn't supported on Windows 8.1 - as of this time, this is the supported environment per the vCAC 6 Extensibility Guide.

vCloud Automation Center Designer Prerequisites vCloud Automation Center Designer is typically installed on a development machine rather than a server.

Supported Operating Systems

■ Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (64-bit)

■ Windows 7 SP1 (32- or 64-bit)

■ Windows Vista Business (32- or 64-bit)

■ Windows XP SP3 (32- or 64-bit)

System Configuration Requirements

■ .NET Framework 4.5 must be installed.

■ The vCloud Automation Center Designer host must have network access to the IaaS Website components (specifically, the Model Manager Web component).

■ If the Model Manager is installed remotely, the certificate used for the Model Manager Web component must be trusted on the vCloud Automation Center Designer host.

Try adding the certificate from the IaaS server to the server you are trying to install the client on. Worked for me. Details in the KB below.
