VM not power on

Hi ,

I am getting below error while try to power on VM :

"A general system error occurred: Invalid response code: 503 Service Unavailable"

Note : VM is running on ESXi-5.5 and connected through vCenter 5.5 appliances.

There is no memory reservation on this VM and 65 GB memory is available on ESXi.

Thanks Manish Raj

Hi,

Earlier we have multiple snapshot on this VM which is deleted bcz space issue is addressed in existing datastore which having respective .VMDK file.Sfter that when we tried to power on this VM via vcentre it is generating 503 service error.... as a work around we tried to start this vm from respective host  through VI client then VM bring back ... but issue is remain with Vcenter.

Is this the only VM on that host having this power on issue via VC? If so, you can try removing the VM from Inventory in vCenter, then re-add it to vCenter inventory.

what's the setting for HA? Percentage of resources?

have you set Admission control policy on HA rules? try disabling it (no good practice) and see if it solve the issue

Under vsphare HA admission control is disabled & Host monitoring is enabled. Under VM option VM Restart Priority is Medium & Host Isolation response is leave as powered on. VM monitoring is also Disabled & data store Heart beating is selected as "select only from my preferred data store"

we have quite enough resources are available in that cluster & We are not using Admission control policy on HA Rules ....

Remove VM from inventory and Add it to inventory again. It will work.
