The attached "Windows_XP_Home_Edition.vmx.zip" file contains a new "Windows XP Home Edition.vmx" file created from the supplied vmware.log file.

With VMware Player closed, unzip (double-click) the downloaded attached "Windows_XP_Home_Edition.vmx.zip" file and replace the original "Windows XP Home Edition.vmx" file with the one here.

WoodyZ,

What steps are you taking to repair these cases?  I am in a similar spot, but would like to know an effective way of resolving things by myself.

When a VM is run, the .vmx configuration file is logged into the vmware.log file.  The .vmx file I provide is programmatically extracted from the supplied vmware.log file, zipped and ready to upload with the customized reply, also created programmatically. I then copy an paste the reply and attach the .zip file to a reply. The original source code for the extraction is from a perl script in this thread.  Although the code in the link is no longer applicable to the latest releases and a couple previous version too.  I had to modify the original code to handle the format changes when VMware made a change in their logging.

Thanks for the note.  If you wouldn't mind assisting me as well I would be greatly appreciative.  I have attached a .zip file with the log files.
