Detecting snapshots

Hello,

How can I detect and locate snapshots via vCops?

Thank you in advance.

1) You can use the "Datastore Waste" view under Planning tab. Select a container object (world, vCenter, etc), and open that view.

2) You can view the virtual machine snapshot usage using a web browser directly logged into vCenter Operations, vSphere-UI

  1. Select a Datacenter or lower level object in the navigation pane.
  2. Click the Operations tab.
  3. Click All Metrics.
  4. Click Snapshot Space (GB).
  5. Click Graph values for the selected metric.

A graph is displayed which shows virtual machine snapshot space for the selected object.

Hi,

I realize this is an old thread, but is there a way to generate a report (weekly) that will show if there are open snapshots. I would rather a report rather than manually having to check.

Thanks

Use a script called vcheck run as a scheduled windows task, Just do a quick search for it on the net.
