We've got a problem with vmware vcenter web client. When any user (even root) tries to rename a virtual machine o folder, he gets a window saying "validating" and it never ends.
We have vmware vcenter 5.5 vsca, we've tried Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.
We have tried to rename on virtual machines running on hosts ESXi 5.1 and ESXi 5.5, with identical result.
We have no problem renaming with the vwmare client installed locally on windows.
We have no problem doing other tasks, as creating snapshots through vmware web client.

After opening a support case, we got by ourselves with the solution.
Web UI requires view to be in vms and templates in order to rename. Otherwise, it stucks in "validating"
