HP DL380 G6 and G8 CPU Compatibility for Vsphere 5.5

I trying to see if the Xeon E5540 and the Xeon E5-2640 are fully compatible regarding Vmotion, EVC, DRS, HA, FT, etc. Any concerns? Thank you.

Hi,

G6 with E5540 is on the hcl for 5.5

G8 with E5-2640 also.

Those processors should work with vMotion, DRS, HA. You will need to set EVC to the processor family of the 5540s or vMotion will not work which make DRS useless. With FT I would read the requirements because to have a FT protected VM is strict and some restrictions placed on that VM.
