Unrecoverable error: (vix) SSLLoadSharedLibraries

Hi guys....

I've downloaded the 10th version of VMware Workstation to see how well it behaves with our ESX enviroment.

I've try to connect to our cluster in order to upload a current .vmx and it doesn't let me Smiley Sad

Then, i try to uninstall the app and i can't:

WMware Workstation unrecoverable error: (vix)

SSLLoadSharedLibraries: Failed to load OpenSSL libraries. libdir is C:\Program Files (x86)\VMWare\VMware Workstation

You can request support.

I'd try to update it to 10.0.1 and the same error appears.

What can i do to fix this issue?

I'm under Windows 7 Ultimate

Hi Francisco,

Just a guess... Do you have any antivirus software installed on your host?  If so, it might be interfering with VMware Workstation... try disabling it temporarily to see if that allows a reinstall/update to proceed.  (We've had particular trouble with Avast! antivirus – If you are using Avast!, it might even need to be uninstalled before you can use VMware Workstation properly.)

Thanks,

Hi!... I've uninstalled Avast and nothing changes...

Still the same error.

Any ideas?

I renamed intallation folder from

C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation

to

C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\.VMware Workstation

with the "." before the name. I suppose it's just enought rename the folder with somthing.

Anyway, my unistall works after that.

Bye.

Matteo.
