Hi there,
i use ESXi 5.5 installed on USB disk at a Supermicro X8SIL mainboard, XEON L3426, 16GiB Kingston ECC REG, two onboard Intel NICs and an addditional Dual Port Intel® 82571GB Gigabit Controller.
At this time this machine was connected fine via two CAT7 cables on Intel® 82571GB Gigabit Controller, connected with a HP1810G-24 switch, an Internet router and my QuadCore i7 workstation (Windows 7 pro 64). A copy job (about 900GB) from my workstation to a DSS v7 lite VM on my ESXi server was broken after about 25GB and the NICs were disconnected. The management console was still working, a restart of the management network from console had no effect. I disconnected the cables and connected them again, no effect.
A ping from workstation (192.168.2.133) to ESXi shows: Reply from 192.168.2.133: Destination host unreachable.
of course, vSphere client had no connection. So I did a restart from console and a short test shows all running normal.
What was happened? Any ideas?
Best regards,
Matthias
