I had a major issue with Vcenter and SSO services failing to start after applying MS updates and restarting the host.
I had a snapshot of the machine taken with it powered off, unfortunately reverting to the snap didn't help so I'm assuming this may have happened if I had just rebooted without installing updates.
Working with support we were able to get SSO to start by deleting the JRE folder and replacing it with a fresh copy but then couldn't log in to the Web Client with admin@system-domain account.
After trying many different things the support tech said we needed to uninstall and reinstall Vcenter and SSO, web client etc.
This was eventually done with a lot of difficulty and the services are working again.
This is the second time I've had to replace the JRE folder with a new copy.
My question is should I assume there is some underlying issue with the OS and build a new server, import the database and reinstall?
